Reliable Wi-Fi Everywhere

The client was taking on a big extension and modernisation of a 1920’s detached home.  As part of the modernisation, they wanted to make sure connectivity was reliable and able to handle the demands of living there with their 4 young teenagers.

I designed and installed CAT6 network cabling throughout to all TV points in the house so that streaming video could be separated from Wi-Fi where possible.  I also installed CAT6 cabling to four Wi-Fi access points around the house in discreet, but effective, locations.  All cabling was run back to a central hub in a cabinet where it can be remotely accessed should the client need me to do any troubleshooting.  I’m pleased to say that after 4 years I have not had to troubleshoot the system!

The result was a rock-solid network and strong reliable wi-fi signal throughout the house that satisfies the clients (and their teenagers!) needs for media streaming, wi-fi calling and video calling.

I also installed in-ceiling speakers in the kitchen-diner and in the teenagers playroom/den and upgraded their existing CCTV system.

The key to this project was to understand the client’s needs and to keep everything that can be, off Wi-Fi!
